A message from Councillor Steve Rackett, Leader of the Green Group on Watford Council
“On 4th June you will have the opportunity to make a fresh break from the usual politics. The latest stories about expenses claims show that many, but not all of our MPs appear to have lost touch with reality.
Electing a local councillor can be different. Councillors can be much more connected to their local community, representing them on a wide range of issues, from housing to transport, and from environment to ‘bin’ collection.
I am stepping down from Hertfordshire County Council this year - but intend to carry on representing the residents of North Watford on Watford Borough Council for as long as they want me to.
I am pleased to say the Green Party has selected Ian Brandon as the candidate for the Callowland Leggatts Division in my place. I do hope residents in North Watford will support him. He will make an excellent councillor.”
Best wishes
Councillor Steve Rackett
